Initially started in the living room on a computer generating ideas for improving the quality of care in the homes of South Carolina, Nightingale’s was founded in 2001 and we accepted our first contract in 2002. In the first month we admitted 35 clients and continued to focus on training employees while the owner, Gloria Kasler, RN performed all the admissions, ensuring excellent customer service and using her critical care and home health background to establish superior care plans with well trained employees. Her daughter, Brandy Strong oversaw the service coordination and was the smiling voice behind the many phone calls required to connect the right clients with the right South Carolina home care givers!
Within a few years a second office was needed in Camden another in Lancaster. In 2007 the youngest daughter, Babbette Yates joined the company and it was after her involvement that they decided to open an additional office in Charleston, SC where they were well received and accepted about 35% of the Community Long Term Care market before the end of their first year there. Most recently in 2014, a Myrtle Beach office has been added and in 2015 a branch is being established to serve Beaufort County!
We continue to provide both Aides as well as skilled private duty nurse, both RN and LPN. Over the last several years we have increased our RN involvement with medically complex pediatric needs to help bring babies home from the hospital. Under Governor Sanford’s terms in office, a transparency website was established to show where funding is spent and it was through that technology that we learned we had become the largest Community Long Term Care provider in South Carolina.
We contribute our growth to the goodwill that is passed through word of mouth among our exceptional employees and our precious clients, along with many hours of dedicated service, concern for the welfare of others and the trust placed in God the Father to lead us along the right path, protect us from harm, allow us to be a positive influence on everyone we come in contact with and use His grace of wisdom and a discerning heart to choose those we work with carefully and according to His will.
